Daisy Grenade and their new single “Hypocrite” is a pop-rock song that feels straight out of an early aughts coming-of-age comedy movie. “Dumb, dumb, you’re acting stupid/I don’t want, don’t want to do this/Done, done, done with your bullshit/Someone’s gotta tell you, so I guess I’ll do it/H-Y-P-O-C-R-I-T-E/You’re a hypocrite,” the duo sings over punk rock riffs. Following the release of “I Died” on June 5, Cassadee Pope and Daisha McBride officially dropped their spooky music video for the song. Set to appear on Pope‘s forthcoming LP Hereditary, available July 12, the song is a dark rock track about scorched-earth breakups. This year marks a whopping five entire years of Sad Summer Festival. The fifth-anniversary tour is positively stacked. Mayday Parade and The Maine are set to headline and The Wonder Years, We The Kings, Real Friends, Knuckle Puck, Daisy Grenade, The Summer Set, Diva Bleach, Hot Milk, and Like Roses will play sets, too. Cavetown and Mother Mother are heading out on tour beginning June 7 in Phoenix at the Arizona Financial Theatre and concluding on July 13 at Chicago’s Huntington Bank Pavilion. Originally, Destroy Boys was set to support, but had to pull out. Instead, Cavetown announced that Meet Me @ The Altar will join them this summer.
