Yellowcard has officially dropped their new album Better Days, their first LP since their 2016 self-titled album, and it features some stunning collabs. The Travis Barker-produced album features Alkaline Trio‘s Matt Skiba on “Love Letters Lost” and Avril Lavigne on “You Broke Me Too.” Lavigne says of the collab, “My friend Travis Barker called me up to say he was producing the new Yellowcard album and I really liked what I heard. When he played me ‘You Broke Me Too,’ I liked how it can be an anthem people can relate to when finding hope after a relationship.” Yellowcard’s Ryan Key shared,… Read more »
On February 13, blink-182 and Alkaline Trio performed at The Hollywood Palladium to raise funds for victims of the LA wildfires. Charities supported included the LAFD Foundation, the California Fire Foundation, the Anti-Recidivism Coalition, and the Pasadena Humane Society. Of course, with such an astounding bill, blink-182 pulled out all the stops for fans, including bringing out Alkaline Trio frontman, and former frontman of blink, Matt Skiba. Skiba, Tom DeLonge, Mark Hoppus, and Travis Barker all teamed up to perform “Bored To Death,” the hit track from 2016 LP California. Hoppus hilariously introduced Skiba onstage as a “contest winner.” This… Read more »

Matt Skiba, lead singer and guitarist for Chicago punk purists Alkaline Trio, feels that there are a lot of misconceptions out there regarding Satanism, and, as a longtime member of Anton LaVey’s Church of Satan, can tell you that it’s not all fire, brimstone and threats of eternal damnation. Really, the faith’s simply about theatrics, how to comport yourself when you’re out and about (for instance, one of the church’s Ten Commandment-like mandates forbids followers from bothering others in open territory, but “if someone bothers you, ask him to stop – if he does not stop, destroy him”) and maintaining… Read more »
