Metalcore icons Killswitch Engage have announced a headlining tour spanning North America in the winter and spring of 2025. This is the band’s first North American tour since late 2022. They will be joined by Kublai Khan TX, Fit For A King and Frozen Soul. “Excited is an understatement for the way that I feel about this tour,” says vocalist Jesse Leach. He adds, “We will be playing a solid amount of new songs, as well as old. That alone makes me very stoked. I feel like the band is firing on all cylinders and the timing for this tour… Read more »

New York – On the day nominations for the music industry’s highest honors were announced, nobody could find Killswitch Engage. Most of the members were asleep after headlining a concert the night before, pumping out ear-shattering music and screeching lyrics for a tiny audience. At least it was tiny compared with audiences for previous metal Grammy nominees, like Metallica and Black Sabbath. “Everyone’s mouth was pretty much wide open” after the Grammy nods, lead singer Howard Jones recently told The Associated Press. “Everyone was like, ‘Did this really just happen. What sort of bizarro world is this?’” It’s the kind… Read more »
Ozzy crooned, mooned and squirted his water guns, Disturbed bellowed, and Marilyn Manson vamped it up, but Ozzfest has always been just as much about the lesser-known acts, and Sunday’s show was no exception. Though bands like Kilgore, Pushmonkey and the perhaps aptly named No One have proven that Ozzfest exposure alone won’t make you famous, second-stage alumni System of a Down and Slipknot can attest that it certainly doesn’t hurt. Killswitch Engage’s potential spot in the Slipknot category seemed all but assured even before they appeared at Dallas’ Smirnoff Music Centre. Even though it was only the second show… Read more »
Female-fronted power metal quintet Huntress recently wrapped up a tour with metal titans Testament, Killswitch Engage, and Lamb of God, who they’ll be heading to Europe with in the new year. Frontwoman Jill Janus plays hardball and is certainly one of the boys. Classically trained and positively wicked, Janus sat down for some girltalk with idobi writer Alex Rudisill at one of their final dates with such a legendary lineup.
SharpTone Records just announced the signing of Alabama hardcore and death metal act No Cure. The heavy quintet also shared their label debut “Don’t Need Your Help” featuring Jesse Clark of Wielded Steel and Nick Chance of Beautiful Child Of God. The track is set to appear on their forthcoming EP I Hope I Die Here set for release on December 6. The band shares, “Every track [of the EP] features someone that has made an undeniable mark on Alabama hardcore over the years. We do not expect you to recognize every name on this record, and that’s the point.”… Read more »
Columbus’ Sonic Temple Festival is gearing up for its 2025 event, which is taking place on May 8-11 at the Historic Crew Stadium. And this fest has a killer lineup, of course. Headliners for the four-day fest include Korn (Thursday), Metallica (Friday & Sunday), and Linkin Park (Saturday). And there are many reasons to celebrate rock and metal in 2025. Three Days Grace will perform with OG vocalist Adam Gontier, GWAR will officially turn 40 years old, Trivium will play a 20-year anniversary set of Ascendancy, and much more. In fact, Gontier shares, “I couldn’t be more excited to not only… Read more »
