New York City indie rock veterans Interpol wrapped up their US tour on Sunday, May 15th at Kings Theatre in Flatbush, Brooklyn. Credited with being on the forefront of the aughts post-punk revival and start of the indie rock movement in the city, Interpol burst on the scene in 2002 with their iconic debut album Turn on the Bright Lights. New York rock band Interpol will return to duty this summer for a run of European and North American festival dates, beginning July 3 in Norway. The trek will likely be the last in support of the band’s 2007 album, “Our Love To Admire,” before it gets busy on its next album. After Interpol ring in the new year, the quartet with a penchant for wearing black will bestow upon its fans a touch of evil. “Evil” is poised to be the next single off Interpol’s latest album, Antics, according to a Matador Records spokesperson. Just a month after opening its doors, the Apple iTunes store is looking to expand. With content already available from all five major labels, the online music service is reaching out to independent labels in hopes of offering the broadest, deepest catalog of downloadable music.
