Maverick Recording Company and Activision, Inc. have partnered with world championship skateboarder Tony Hawk to release Music From and Inspired by Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3. Goldfinger took to the When We Were Young Fest Stripe stage to play all the hits, including their beloved ska hit “Superman,” but this time, with a special guest. Retired professional skateboarder Tony Hawk came onstage to help John Feldmann with some vocals for the song. After more than two decades as a pro, Tony Hawk is hanging up his board. The 35-year-old father of three announced his retirement from competition after winning the gold at X Games IX on Sunday in Los Angeles. Hawk placed first in the Vert Best Trick competition with his patented 900, a full two-and-a-half-rotation spin off the half-pipe. Revolution Studios has acquired an untitled comedy pitch that will star Tony Hawk, arguably the most influential skateboarder of all time. Hawk will also executive produce the project alongside producers Mark Ciardi, Gordon Gray, Ed Decter and John Strauss, the quartet behind Revolution’s upcoming Decter-directed feature “The New Guy,” which features Hawk playing himself.
