Underoath Drummer Steps Up As Frontman For Side Project The Almost

While Floridian metalcore sextet Underoath were recording 2006’s Define the Great Line a little more than a year ago, the band’s drummer, Aaron Gillespie, found himself writing straight-up rock tunes, material that he realized wouldn’t fit with Underoath’s vicious style. If these songs were to be heard someday, he knew he’d have to release them himself. So before Define ’s June release, Gillespie hit the studio alone to track the songs, playing all of the instruments himself and even tackling vocalist duties, like how Trent Reznor records Nine Inch Nails albums. This spring, Gillespie’s as-yet-untitled solo debut, which he’ll release… Read more »

This Green Day Single Was Almost A 5 Seconds Of Summer Song

There’s no doubt that Green Day is “Still Breathing” and ready to rock. In a recent interview with People, frontman Billie Joe Armstrong revealed that a popular pop-punk boy band wanted him to write them a song. But Armstrong had a different thought about it. “All of a sudden, I was writing the lyrics, and I was like, ‘Oh my God, there’s no fucking way I’m giving these guys this song,’” he says about their Revolution Radio single, “Still Breathing.” 5 Seconds Of Summer asked him to pen a track for them, however, after Armstrong saw what he created, he… Read more »

Jurassic World 3: Extinction Excitement Begins Almost 2 Years Before Release

Excitement is buzzing after the announcement of the cast for Jurassic World 3: Extinction. As could be expected are Bryce Dallas Howard and Chris Pratt from the 2 most recent installments of the Jurassic franchise. Returning from the 1993 masterpiece that started the film series are Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and the glorious Mr Jeff Goldblum –I don’t have a favorite or anything. A big to-do should also be made over Colin Trevorrow. Trevorrow has been a consistent writer for the films, directed 2015’s Jurassic World, and has been named director and one of 3 executive producers on Extinction. He… Read more »
