Time to get hyped because Defences is here with a new single, “The Almost.” The track is a reminder to stop comparing yourself to others and start living. In this genre-defying alt-metal release, the group attacks the idea of comparison and feeling stuck. Simple yet effective, the video sees vocalists Cherry Duesbury and William Young trading time in the hot seat as the lyrics address the viewer on screen. The band comments, “Our version of this place, ‘The Almost,’ is a sort of limbo. It serves as an allegory for these comparisons, trapping us and getting in the way of… Read more »

While Floridian metalcore sextet Underoath were recording 2006’s Define the Great Line a little more than a year ago, the band’s drummer, Aaron Gillespie, found himself writing straight-up rock tunes, material that he realized wouldn’t fit with Underoath’s vicious style. This spring, Gillespie’s as-yet-untitled solo debut, which he’ll release… Read more »

Cassadee Pope is boldly reclaiming her throne in pop-punk with the release of her latest venture “Almost There.” Marking her second new release of 2023 following “People That I Love Leave,” which Pope recently performed at the idobi Studios in LA, “Almost There” presents a juxtaposing feel compared to her previous single release. “Almost There” delves into a more sensual side of Pope’s songwriting that she’s previously left untapped. Co-written by Pope, alongside renowned talents Nick Furlong (credited for work with blink-182, 5 Seconds Of Summer, and Papa Roach) and Christina Galligan (affiliated with gnash and aespa), the song invites… Read more »
