For metal and heavy rock fans of the Midwest, today is a big announcement day. Sonic Temple Festival 2024 officially shared their lineup for their upcoming event. Taking place May 16-19, festival-goers can see a major fest at Historic Crew Stadium in Columbus. Of course, the headliners are worth the travel and ticket price alone. Music fans mourning the passing of Aaliyah – and those curious about her legacy – will push the late R&B star to the top of next week’s Billboard 200 albums chart. Despite strong debuts from Mary J. Blige and Slipknot, Aaliyah’s eponymous album will vault to #1 on the albums chart next week, a month and a half after its initial release. Priority Records Co-Founder Launches Rap Label

Mark Cerami, co-founder of groundbreaking hip-hop imprint Priority Records, has launched a label called M.S.C. Music & Entertainment. The Los Angeles-baed label, which will focus initially on rap artists, has signed seven new acts. The first release on M.S.C. will be “Absolute Power” from Kansas City-based rapper TECHN9NE. The disc is due out Sept. 10 and will feature an hourlong bonus DVD. Cerami said he is in talks with three major label groups about a distribution deal for M.S.C. He has a long pedigree in hip-hop.
