Green Day has always been a politically charged band. It comes as no surprise that entering an election year in 2024, the trio would have something to say regarding the upcoming climate our nation will soon face. On New Year’s Eve, Green Day performed their classic hit, “American Idiot” on the televised Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve special. The group has sparked controversy with the choice to change lyrics from the original tune, which was already incredibly political to begin with.
