A 5th Grader Stands Up To Bullying

Nobody should have to feel like 5th grader Delanie Marcotte does. Listen.  I’ll be the first admit; life isn’t easy… and middle school / high school and even college can be the hardest times of our lives.  Socially – are you kidding me?  Like come on.  We all FREAKED out those first couple weeks of high school.  I remember my parents making me go to as many different pre-events as possible, just so when I went to high school I knew at least some people when I showed up and walked the hallways.  Having at least someone to nod to… Read more »

Em's Bully Beat Down by Court

A tormentor from Eminem ‘s past has failed to bully a Michigan appeals court into reinstating a lawsuit against the rapper. DeAngelo Bailey, who attended elementary school with Em in Detroit back in the day, claims the rapper’s 1999 tune “Brain Damage,” which name checks Bailey as a schoolyard terrorizer, trashed his reputation by portraying him in a false light. Bailey, now a sanitation worker, contends the worst he did was “bump” the then wimpy Marshall Mathers III and give him a “little shove.” But a Michigan state appeals court ruled Friday that the track, which appears on Eminem’s breakthrough… Read more »

It looks like Eminem’s finally planning to stand up to his old schoolyard tormentor-in court. Slim Shady wants a Michigan judge to dismiss a lawsuit brought by a playground peer who allegedly taunted and terrorized the then-prepubescent hip-hopster back when the two were in grade school, the Detroit News reports. Eminem, born Marshall Mathers III, is expected to appear in Macomb County Circuit Court before Judge Deborah Servitto on August 18 to ask her to toss the suit filed in 2001 by DeAngelo Bailey. Bailey’s seeking $1 million for the injury he claims to have sustained to his reputation when… Read more »

As It Is Shares That “Dial Tones” Featuring Lucas Woodland Is Coming Soon

After teasing a featured guest on their 10-year re-release of “Dial Tones,” As It Is has officially revealed the special act: Lucas Woodland of Holding Absence. Sure, we were wrong on our initial guesses of Stand Atlantic and Derek DiScanio of State Champs, but Woodland is also an incredible artist who has a five-letter first name and eight-letter last name. Who knew so many awesome acts fit this very specific character limit? On Instagram, As It Is shared, “We are beyond excited to have our bestie @loocaswoodland of @holdingabsence lend his incredible voice to the 10-year re-record of Dial Tones!… Read more »

Will As It Is Tap Stand Atlantic or Derek DiScanio for New Version Of “Dial Tones”?

As It Is just dropped a new teaser video on Instagram and TikTok sharing that they’re releasing a new version of “Dial Tones.” This time, the Never Happy, Ever After track contains a mystery featured guest artist. The teaser video sees the song in its more mature form with refined pop-punk sonics—after all, it’s been an entire decade. (Insert crying emoji here.) Our best guess is that As It Is tapped Stand Atlantic to help refresh “Dial Tones” in 2025. In September 2024, Patty Walters joined Stand Atlantic onstage for a performance of “NOSE BLEED.” So, clearly, they were hanging… Read more »
