Beauty School Dropout just dropped their first taste of music for 2025, and it was so worth the wait. “On Your Lips” has a divine mix of scene-era electronic flourishes, grunge-laced guitar melodies, and urgent pop-rock vocals. The band shares, “This song is our first big leap into a sound we’ve never harnessed before. It’s experimental, rhythmic, heavy, and fun all at the same time.” They add, “For us, it means maturing into our sound and showing we’re not the same kids we were when we started this project 5 years ago. For the fans, it’s meant to be a track they… Read more »

Sometimes the songs hidden between the singles on an album are the best ones. Maybe they weren’t front and center, but they play an integral part of the narrative. “Heart Of Gold” by Beauty School Dropout is a shining example of this notion. Not a primary focus of their sophomore album, READY TO EAT, but perhaps the last piece of the puzzle that when you step back, makes the effort complete. Arguably a song with one of the strongest melodies on the album, the band takes a staccato approach to the verses with lead singer, Colie Hutzler singing: “Trouble when… Read more »
“One Night Stand You” is a damn good example of all the things Beauty School Dropout does best in their musicality. Clever lyricism, charismatic vocal delivery, verses that swell with anticipation before bursting into an explosive chorus—there’s a reason this track was a hit from their sophomore album, READY TO EAT. They gave the song proper love and attention with a beautifully cinematic black-and-white music video. Beauty School Dropout also released a recent acoustic reimagining. “Much like drugs I believe love (or lust) is a substance. It can just as easily be turned into a crutch to alleviate the pains… Read more »
Beauty School Dropout has released a reimagined version of their single “one night stand you” via Verswire. The original version is off of their latest album, READY TO EAT. Last week, they released a black-and-white music video for the track. Vocalist Colie Hutzler is authentically raw in his delivery. While the original song is more poppy and pointed, the acoustic take illustrates a quiet pain. Listening to either style, the meaning of the overall single doesn’t change. Hutzler explains, “Much like drugs, I believe love (or lust) is a substance that can just as easily be turned into a crutch… Read more »
