Los Angeles, CA, is once again transforming into Halloween Town for the 10-year anniversary celebration of Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas at the Hollywood Bowl. And with it…Jack is back! Danny Elfman—the original composer, lyricist, and vocalist of the film’s protagonist Jack Skellington in the 1993 classic—will return to his role as the Pumpkin King during the annual live performances of the beloved spooky film this October.
First launched in 2015, the annual performances have become a rite of passage for fans of Tim Burton and of the stop-motion film. To celebrate the milestone year, Elfman will be joined by an all-star cast: Janelle Monáe as Sally, Keith David as Oogie Boogie, John Stamos as Lock, and Riki Lindhome as Shock. Together, they’ll bring the beloved film’s iconic characters to life on stage, backed by a full orchestra performing Elfman’s unforgettable score.
“I guess it’s safe to say this is becoming a Halloween tradition by now,” Elfman shares. “That makes me so happy. I can’t wait to see all the Halloween freaks, monsters, gods and goddesses to celebrate together!”
The concerts are scheduled for Saturday, October 25, and Sunday, October 26, promising a two-night celebration of all things spooky, strange, and delightful. For fans, it’s a rare opportunity to see Elfman reprise one of his most iconic roles in a setting that has become just as legendary as the film itself.
