Premiere: Schematic – Color (n.) Inside The Lines

We’re excited to be premiering the debut album from Schematic, the new project of former Mae frontman Dave Elkins. The album, entitled Color (n.) Inside The Lines, will be available tomorrow, but you can stream the whole thing a day early right here on idobi.

Schematic is part of an ambitious new venture from Elkins made up of four pillars: Schematic Records, Schematic Studios, Schematic Management, and Schematic Community. The project was made possible with the help of a successful IndieGoGo campaign that raised over $50,000 in just one month. Elkins will kick off the 2013 Schematic Tour on March 15th at SXSW in Austin, TX – for full dates and more information on the project, visit thisisschematic.com.

Hide & Seek is my favorite on the album.

    Uniquely Awe-inspiring!

Wow! Dave Elkins artistically fits these sounds “inside the lines”: catchy acoustics that will bring out your inner-90s, psychedelic sonics, trippy bass lines, and rangy vocals.
If you have doubts, download one song: “You Are My Southern Girl.” It reminds me a little of Adele…Did I just compare Dave Elkins to Adele? Okay, maybe not on the same level, but a captivating masterpiece nonetheless. If you love Mae because of Dave, this album will get your stamp of approval.
