JORDY Shares Why He Can Have “NICE THINGS”

JORDY idobi Radio

JORDY came by the idobi Radio Studios to chat with Fish on Gone Fishkin all about the release of his latest album, SEX WITH MYSELF, which officially dropped last month on June 14. During the interview, JORDY talks about how this album is all about self-love and departing from his heartbreak anthems that appeared on his last release. Even though JORDY isn’t a club-goer himself, he shares how he made these songs for the clubs for people to enjoy.

SEX WITH MYSELF leans into JORDY’s independence and what it meant to find himself and fall deeper in love with himself. ”Horny love self-love bops” is how he describes his sound on this 7-track new release that will have you dancing in the club.

“There’s always more music coming,” JORDY shares in the interview. “We have the tour in the fall. …It’s cool to see so many queer artists killing it right now and just doing their thing so authentically. It gives me so much motivation, and I feel really grateful to be a part of such a cool community of people and artists.”

He adds, “There’s so many favorites on the album, it can’t be Sex With Myself, I guess because we already played that one. I mean, every song is my favorite. I’d say a really fun one is ‘NICE THINGS.’ …That song on the project went crazy on the internet, and it was kind of unexpected, but it’s a catchy beat. It’s kind of my version of a diss track, and people seem to really like it.”

JORDY will be hitting the road on the SEX WITH MYSELF headline tour, which kicks off on October 12 at Austin City Limits. Check out JORDY’s full touring schedule below and purchase tickets here.
