Kid Rock, Anderson Play Coy at Music Show

Kid Rock and Pamela Anderson played coy when asked if they’re back together. “What? I’m shocked,” Anderson said, smiling. “I could have met him on the corner of Hollywood and Vine.” Since calling off their engagement, the 36-year-old actress has been seen with ex-husband Tommy Lee, with whom she has two young sons. Kid Rock, 32, performed on Sunday night’s American Music Awards. Holding a lit cigarette and a beverage in a plastic cup, Kid Rock said he and Anderson were having a post-show bash. “Good company makes a good party,” he said, nodding toward Anderson. Daryl Hall and John… Read more »

Good Charlotte Shoot Heavy Clip For Anti-Suicide Song 'Hold On'

These days Good Charlotte are on top of the world, but there was a time when Benji Madden felt like taking his own life. “I’ll be the first person to say I have the most amazing life of anyone I’ve ever met, but I did come to certain points of my life where I thought that [suicide] was an option,” Benji admitted recently, sitting next to his brother Joel inside the Sunset Marquis Hotel. His voice trailing off, he quietly acknowledged the role that music played in ultimately steering him away from such a tragic and horrible act. The Madden… Read more »

Nickelback Take The Road Less Traveled For Houston Tour Stop – Review

Regardless of their breakthrough success two years ago, Nickelback erred on the side of caution when they were preparing the first tour in support of their new album, The Long Road. Small Texas towns like Grand Prairie and Shiner were selected as the tour’s first testing grounds, and cool, fall evenings at medium-sized halls like Houston’s Verizon Wireless Theater (2,800 capacity) were chosen over summertime assaults at massive amphitheaters and arenas. But somewhere between planning the tour itinerary and building a show that incorporated singles such as “How You Remind Me,” “Too Bad” and their latest hit, “Someday,” someone in… Read more »

All-Americans Feeling Rejected

Ever since The All-American Rejects jumped from independent label Doghouse Records to DreamWorks, the Oklahoma band has been experiencing the inevitable cries of “sell-out” from former supporters in the indie crowd. “I think a lot of people don’t respect us anymore,” reflects drummer Chris Gaylor. “When we were on Doghouse we were this cool indie-pop band and that was awesome. But when you sign to a major, you’re just some dumb boy-band pop group. I don’t see how that differs. We didn’t change any of ourselves or any of the music.” Originally issued in October of 2002, their self-titled debut… Read more »

172 Limp Bizkit Fans Sue Over Shortened Sanitarium Set

When Fred Durst led Limp Bizkit off the stage prematurely during a Summer Sanitarium show outside Chicago, it was likely to the pleasure of those who showered the singer with garbage and boos. Bizkit fans, however, felt cheated to such an extent that they’re suing. An attorney representing 172 displeased concertgoers filed a class-action complaint Wednesday (October 8) in Cook County District Court against the band and its corporate arm, Limp Bizness. The frustrated fans want $25 each to cover Limp Bizkit’s portion of a $75 concert ticket that advertised full sets by Bizkit, Linkin Park and headliners Metallica. And… Read more »

Barenaked Ladies Endure Misspelling, Hit the Road

Barenaked Ladies’ drummer Tyler Stewart jokingly tells Billboard.com that heads better roll at their label Reprise, which mistakenly printed early versions of the band’s new disc, “Everything to Everyone,” as “Everything for Everyone.” “Either they laid off the spell-check person or they are just so frickin’ negligent, that they deserve to go out of business anyway,” Stewart says with a laugh. The album is the band’s first studio release since 2000’s “Maroon.” The 14-track disc finds the band changing paces a bit and approaching songwriting from a totally different direction. “I think this album marks a new beginning because there… Read more »

Robert Ehrlich, addressed an audience Friday at Hood College in Frederick as part of a program called, “Men and Women: Partners in the Fight Against Domestic Violence.” She talked about the need for “educating our women to get as much schooling as possible, to not become dependent on anyone else.” “It is incredibly important to get… Read more »

Sum 41 And KISS's Gene Simmons Embrace Christianity

Are Sum 41 turning into churchies? Our favourite goons from Ajax, ON have been studying up on Christian rock as of late – but don’t expect to see them strutting around wearing studded WWJD wristbands any time soon. Deryck, Brown Sound, Cone and Steve-O haven’t become born-again Christians, they just play them on TV – specifically on a new episode of King Of The Hill. All four Sum boys have donated their voices to the November 9 episode of Fox’s King Of The Hill, titled Reborn To Be Wild. Sum 41 play a gang of Christian youths who express their… Read more »
