Michael Jackson's First Mainland Performance In Over 11 Years


“An all-star salute to ‘The King Of Pop’, MICHAEL JACKSON: 30TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION, THE SOLO YEARS has been set for two dates, Friday, September 7, 2001 and Monday, September 10, 2001 at Madison Square Garden at 7:40 P.M.,” announced David Gest, producer of the event. According to Gest, tickets to the public will go on sale Thursday, July 26th through the Madison Square Garden Box Office and Ticketmaster for both performances. Prince Taps Badu, Common


Prince will celebrate his birthday, and the one-year anniversary of his reclaiming that name, with his annual weeklong “Prince: A Celebration,” in his hometown of Minneapolis. The festivities are scheduled to kick off on June 11th, four days after the funk-soul legend turns forty-three, with the Purple Masquerade Ball at Paisley Park. June 12th will feature performances by the Time (presumably with Morris Day) and Fonky BaldHeads. Mystikal Will Shake Ya Thang At Detroit's Fox Theatre, June 29


Olympia Entertainment will host a rap and hip-hop event headlined by Mystikal. Opening acts will include Jagged Edge, Nivea, Jaheim, Public Announcement, City High, and Supervision. The concert, presented by Seagrams Gin, will take place at 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 29, at the Fox Theatre in downtown Detroit. Aaron Carter, LFO To Join Backstreet Boy Howie D. At Lupus Benefit


LFO, Jon Secada, Aaron Carter and the Monkees will help Backstreet Boy Howie Dorough raise money for his lupus foundation in his hometown of Orlando, Florida, on June 1. Bringing together pop stars from every decade since the ’60s, the concert at Hard Rock Live will also feature performances by Youngstown, Deborah Gibson, the Pointer Sisters and Rascal Flatts. 'N Sync Line Up Early Dates For 2001 Tour


Although ‘N Sync are still working on their new album, they’ve gone ahead and announced five dates for an upcoming summer tour, tentatively set to begin on May 12 in Miami. Tickets for the five shows, which include stops in Tampa, Florida; Jacksonville, Florida; Jackson, Mississippi; and Hershey, Pennsylvania, will go on sale Saturday via Ticketmaster.
