Prince will celebrate his birthday, and the one-year anniversary of his reclaiming that name, with his annual weeklong “Prince: A Celebration,” in his hometown of Minneapolis. The festivities are scheduled to kick off on June 11th, four days after the funk-soul legend turns forty-three, with the Purple Masquerade Ball at Paisley Park. LFO, Jon Secada, Aaron Carter and the Monkees will help Backstreet Boy Howie Dorough raise money for his lupus foundation in his hometown of Orlando, Florida, on June 1. Bringing together pop stars from every decade since the ’60s, the concert at Hard Rock Live will also feature performances by Youngstown, Deborah Gibson, the Pointer Sisters and Rascal Flatts. Although ‘N Sync are still working on their new album, they’ve gone ahead and announced five dates for an upcoming summer tour, tentatively set to begin on May 12 in Miami. Tickets for the five shows, which include stops in Tampa, Florida; Jacksonville, Florida; Jackson, Mississippi; and Hershey, Pennsylvania, will go on sale Saturday via Ticketmaster.
