Oasis Hit Road in August


Oasis have confirmed twelve North American summer tour dates in support of their upcoming fifth album, Heathen Chemistry. The trek kicks off on August 2nd in Fort Lauderdale, Florida – six days after the band wraps its European tour in Rome – and is now scheduled to run through an August 21st date in Detroit. Heathen Chemistry, the follow-up to 2000’s Standing on the Shoulder of Giants, will be released in July. The album is the first to feature Oasis’ new guitarist Gem Archer and bassist Andy Bell. Saliva Start New "System"


Saliva have finished pre-production work on their third album and will enter Bearsville Studio in upstate New York later this month to record the follow-up to last year’s Every Six Seconds. The new set, titled Back Into Your System, is slated for a mid-August release. According to frontman Josey Scott, the group has written and will record eighteen songs, with about twelve making the album’s final cut. Outkast Unmask Scooby Snack Thief In New Video


Who stole Outkast’s Scooby Snacks? That’s the premise of the video for “Land of a Million Drums,” the hip-hop duo’s contribution to, and the first single from, the upcoming “Scooby-Doo” soundtrack. Outkast filmed the clip last week in Los Angeles with director Bryan Barber (Lil’ Bow Wow, Jagged Edge) and actor Matthew Lillard, whose Shaggy is caught snatching up the tasty treats. But wait! Smokin' Grooves Returning With Outkast, Lauryn Hill, Roots


After a three-year hiatus, groundbreaking hip-hop tour Smokin’ Grooves will return this summer armed with a lineup that includes Outkast, Lauryn Hill and the Roots. The outing, which will also feature West Coast rhyme slingers Jurassic 5, is scheduled to kick off July 18 near San Francisco and hit 15 major markets before wrapping up August 7 in Atlanta. TLC Won't Replace Lisa Lopes


TLC won’t replace Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, who died last week in a car crash in Honduras. Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that the Grammy-winning R&B trio will release its fourth album and plans to continue performing, but she and Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins won’t add a new member. “As for Lisa being replaced – never,” Thomas said. “You can’t replace a TLC girl. Moby Taps Busta, Bowie, More For Area2


Busta Rhymes and David Bowie are among the artists set to join Moby on the Area2 tour, the sample-lover’s second foray into the world of eclectic summer outings. The three-week trek is scheduled to begin July 28 in Bristow, Virginia, and cover Eastern seaboard stops before heading West, according to the event’s publicist. Two New Songs On Latest Aerosmith Best-Of Collection


“Girls of Summer,” the midtempo song Aerosmith debuted on mtvICON will be one of at least two new songs on a greatest-hits collection due June 25. Another new track, “Bad Enough,” will also be included. Both songs were written in Hawaii last month by vocalist Steven Tyler, guitarist Joe Perry and Marti Frederiksen, who wrote, produced and co-wrote the band’s last record, 2001’s Just Push Play.
