The Black Crowes will flock together once more, hitting a New York stage for a five-night run. The stoner Southern-rock band have been on “hiatus” since January 2002 and haven’t played a show together since the previous October – and while the band, media and fans have all submitted to the word “hiatus,” everybody knows the Crowes were really broken up, so this little get-together is a pretty big deal. New York – Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher revealed Friday his band’s sixth studio set will be released internationally May 16, almost three years after its previous set, “Heathen Chemistry.” In an interview with BBC Radio 1, Gallagher said the Epic album is finished and has a title, but he declined to unveil it. The album will feature 12 songs credited to all four current members – Noel, singer Liam Gallagher, bassist Andy Bell and guitarist Gem Archer. Los Angeles – Bright Eyes principal Conor Oberst delivered a finished album to his label last February with an eye on a summer release, but then he had other ideas. He went back into the studio and recorded enough songs for a second set. New York – With memories of a successful summer tour in Southeast Asia still fresh in their minds, the members of Linkin Park are spearheading an effort to help victims of the earthquake and tsunami that have devastated the region. Los Angeles – In a dismal year for the touring industry, with ticket prices soaring and seats going unsold, music fans in North America partied like it was 1989 as Prince and Madonna topped the concert box office. According to freshly tabulated estimates provided by concert trade publication Pollstar, Prince sold $87.4 million in tickets in 2004, while Madonna earned $79.5 million. Prince also worked a bit harder for his payday, playing 96 shows, compared with 39 for Madonna.
