Bassist Jason Newsted toured, recorded and partied with Metallica 24-7 for some 13 years. After quitting the band in February, at least partly because of a ban on side projects, he suddenly found the flexibility to work on multiple projects with different artists. Cocky, the Bullgod’s next LP, features a duet with Snoop Dogg, according to an Atlantic Records spokesperson, while Kid Rock returns the favor with a guest shot on Snoop’s upcoming record, the laid-back West Coast rapper said. Cher is planning her return to the music scene this fall, releasing her new single “The Music’s No Good Without You,” in Europe November 5th. The diva’s label are banking on the same strategy they used on Cher’s comeback effort, 1998’s Believe, taking the new single and upcoming LP, Living Proof to Europe first, before bringing it stateside early next year. Faith Evans did not seek out a rapper to add a verse to her single “You Gets No Love,” the first single from her album Faithfully, scheduled for release on November 6. She decided to handle the rap herself, according to the song’s producer Michael Angelo.
