Linkin Park Planning Projekt Revolution Tour, Remix Album


Linkin Park is in the process of organizing its own headlining tour, the first Projekt Revolution Tour, tentatively set for January of 2002. It’s being planned for U.S. arenas, and the lineup will be an eclectic mix of rock, rap, hip-hop, and electronic music. Guitarist Brad Delson said that the band is all about musical diversity. Linkin Park has had a monster 2001, and the band will top the year by giving fans a DVD titled Linkin Park: Frat Party At The Pankake Festival. The release, due November 20, follows in the footsteps of two top five Modern Rock singles “One Step Closer” and “Crawling,” plus the quadruple-platinum album Hybrid Theory. BMG Names Larry Karpen Director of Marketing


BMG Senior VP of Sales and Marketing Mike Mjehovich today announced the appointment of Larry Karpen to the post of director of marketing for BMG Special Products. The appointment is effective immediately. P.O.D. Avoid Doing 'Dark, Dark Video' For 'Youth Of The Nation'


For P.O.D. this week, Youth of the Nation (the tour) had to take a backseat to “Youth of the Nation” (the song). XM Rethinks Marketing Strategy


The Washington Post yesterday reported that XM Satellite may alter its $40 million marketing campaign as a result of shortfall in cash and slower-than-expected consumer adoption of the service. XM (and rival Sirius) have been essentially dependant on the sale of new automobiles with satellite-equipped radio tuners installed, so the slumping economy is projected to hurt the sale of new cars as consumers stay away from buying expensive durable goods until the economy rebounds. DMX To Embark On Hoodstock Truck Tour


Superstar rapper DMX will launch Hoodstock, a free, 14-city tour Friday (October 12) to promote his fourth album, The Great Depression. The album is scheduled to be released on October 23. Instead of performing at nightclubs or amphitheaters, DMX’s shows will take place on an 18-wheel truck that transforms into a stage.
