Tom Petty Changes Bassist, Adds Dates For Summer Tour


Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers will launch a North American tour on June 27 in Grand Rapids, Michigan-and the band’s original bassist Ron Blair, who left the band in 1982, will return to the fold to replace Howie Epstein. Concert-goers who want to see some of their favorite bands this summer may have to dig deep into their wallets. Tickets to see major performers like the Rolling Stones and Paul McCartney are expected to reach into the hundreds of dollars. The Wall Street Journal said average Stones’ tickets will run between $50 and $100, with top-tier tickets going for about $350. Eminem, Ludacris, Papa Roach, X-ecutioners On Summer Tour


Eminem, Ludacris, Papa Roach and the X-ecutioners will tour together this summer on a still-untitled outing. Dates have not been finalized, but a spokesperson for Papa Roach said the tour will begin in July. Eminem and Papa Roach, who shared a bill on the Anger Management Tour in the fall of 2000, will both be promoting new high-profile releases. Eagles Confirm 31-Date Summer Tour


As first reported here last week, the Eagles will kick off their first North American tour in seven years May 31 in Reno, Nev. Rockers Eagles Plan Summer Tour


Rock legends The Eagles are planning to hit the road again. Billboard reports that the final dates of the tour are still being worked out, but the band will hit mostly secondary markets. The Eagles will likely start off in Reno, Nev., and play about 30 dates. They are still working on a studio album, their first since “The Long Run” in 1979. It appears that the Eagles are planning a multi-date summer tour of the U.S. this year.
