Sirius Launches in Four Markets


Sirius Satellite Radio yesterday began the first phase of its national service rollout in four markets, Denver, Houston, Phoenix, and Jackson, Mississippi. Harrison Death Mystery Solved


The mystery surrounding former Beatle George Harrison’s death certificate has been solved-and it appears he really did die at Paul McCartney’s house. Sort of. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office said Tuesday that friends of the late guitarist have corrected Harrison’s death certificate, after the first version listed a fake address as the place where he died. As it turns out, Harrison died at a Hollywood Hills mansion once leased by McCartney. Blink-182, Green Day To Launch Co-Headlining Catastrophe In April


Bastions of ’90s punk Green Day and Blink-182 will embark on a co-headlining jaunt, beginning April 17 in Bakersfield, California. The 41-city Pop Disaster Tour will continue through June 17 in Minneapolis, according to a tour publicist. Venues have yet to be hammered out. Blige Brings New 'Drama' to Top 10


MCA’s revamped version of Mary J. Blige’s “No More Drama” powered the disc’s 18-place jump to No. 10 on the U.S. pop charts in a week that saw the nation’s top nine albums remain in the same spots as last week. Blige’s disc sold more than 61,000 copies between its re-release Jan. 29 and Sunday, according to SoundScan figures issued Wednesday. Wiser Named CTO at Sony Music


Sony Music Entertainment Senior Vice President Al Smith this week announced that Philip R. Wiser has been named Chief Technology Officer. Wiser will be based in New York and will report directly to Smith. EMI, one of the world’s top music companies, pushed on with yet more restructuring when it reorganized its labels under two global brands-Virgin and Capitol-and streamlined its international management. Custom's 'Hey, Mister' Makes Its Move, But Not On MTV


New York modern rock artist Custom continues to make a name for himself with his single, “Hey Mister,” an edgy, graphic rock tune detailing a sexual relationship as described by the man to the woman’s father. The song debuted on both the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks and Mainstream Rock Tracks charts in late December and has climbed to Number 26 (Modern) and 28 (Mainstream) on the current listings.
