Singer Smith Teased by 'Default'

Maybe it’s an honor to be considered a “cute rock star” in the teen magazines, but for new rock band Default, it’s a license to tease. He’s our buddy. We hang out with him every day. It’s just funny when you see your friend in there under ‘Hot Boys,’… Read more »

Avril Lavigne Takes Off Her Clothes For Rock Hall Of Fame

While many have left their hearts in San Francisco, Avril Lavigne will leave her clothes in Cleveland. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum intends to display the outfit the spunky 17-year-old singer/guitarist wore in her MTV Video Music Awards-nominated “Complicated” clip, according to a Hall spokesperson. While flattered at the honor, Lavigne is just as surprised as anyone that her baggy cargo shorts, fitted white tank top and signature necktie will hang in the same building that houses such illustrious memorabilia as John Lennon’s 1965 Rickenbacker 12-string and Hank Williams’ white wool cowboy hat. “I think that’s… Read more »

Drowning Pool's Williams Remembered As One Of Rock's Nicest

A day after the body of Drowning Pool frontman Dave Williams was discovered on the band’s tour bus, details remained scarce but memories of Williams as a fun-loving, kind-hearted character abounded. An autopsy conducted Thursday morning proved inconclusive, according to a Prince William County police spokesperson. Bon Jovi Album Preview: The Real Meets The Ideal

Ever since their self-titled debut album came out in 1984, Bon Jovi have churned out songs about the triumphs and struggles of young working-class America. It’s where Jon Bon Jovi and his bandmates came from, and for many years the singer’s experiences and dreams provided abundant subject matter for rousing anthems and heartfelt ballads. But when former common folk turn into superstars, sometimes it’s hard for them to really still empathize with the everyman. That might explain why on his band’s new album, Bounce, due October 8, Jon Bon Jovi has once again tapped into what he knows, and it’s… Read more »

Lifehouse Give New Single, Video A 'Spin'

Will Lifehouse’s new single, “Spin,” get as much love as their 2000 hit “Hanging by a Moment,” which received more radio airplay in 2001 than any other song? If the public’s appetite for poppy hard rock hasn’t waned, “Spin” should soon be blasting over the airwaves and propelling the band’s second album, Stanley Climbfall, to stratospheric heights when it arrives on September 17. The song is a little more involved than the band’s debut single, blending Led Zeppelin groove and trippy Beatles-y arpeggios within the group’s standard Stone Temple Pilots-meets-Matchbox Twenty foundation, but the track could still have be called… Read more »
