London – The decision by a group of European labels to legally challenge the European Commission’s approval of the Sony/BMG merger could raise questions for future deals. Impala, the Brussels-based association of European independent labels, announced Nov. 3 that it would appeal the EC’s decision to authorize Sony BMG’s union before the court of First Instance in Luxembourg. Recently boasting about how she always sings live, Avril Lavigne had to make good on her claims and put Ashlee Simpson, in her place. After all, some of Lavigne’s past performances have been less than on-key. The Hip-Hop Summit Action Network (HSAN) today recognizes and congratulates over 21 million young voters 18-35 who participated in yesterday’s national elections. According to an analysis provided to MTV Network’s “Choose Or Lose” campaign by Circle Research, the young adult vote in 2004 shows a sharp increase when compared to the nearly 18 million 18-30 year old votes cast in the 2000 presidential election.
