The guitar pop of Weezer has been interpreted by a cast of underground rock bands for the collection, Rock Music-A Tribute To Weezer, due February 5 from Dead Droid Records. Songs featured include, “Say It Ain’t So,” by Further Seems Forever; “Susanne,” by Midtown; and the Weezer rarity “Jaime,” as interpreted by Dashboard Confessional. Kid Rock Reveals Dates For Forthcoming Tour


Kid Rock has revealed dates to go along with the previously announced cites for his tour, which starts February 22 at the Wendler Arena in Saginaw, Michigan. The tour runs through Rock’s May 4 appearance at Atlanta’s Music Midtown Festival. The Stone Pony, a mecca for fans of Jersey shore rock ‘n’ roll, appears to have survived a brush with destruction, officials said on Thursday. The dilapidated nightclub, a musical home to such legends as Bruce Springsteen and Patti Smith, will be incorporated into a tentative plan to help revitalize the decayed beachfront of Asbury Park, New Jersey, they said. Hard Rockers Drafted For 'Damned' Soundtrack


Marilyn Manson, Disturbed’s David Draiman, Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington, Static-X’s Wayne Static, and Orgy’s Jay Gordon have been drafted to sing five tracks co-written by Korn’s Jonathan Davis and multi-instrumentalist Richard Gibbs for the upcoming “Queen of the Damned” soundtrack. Rock Group Black Crowes on 'Hiatus'


The Black Crowes have flown the coop. The Atlanta-based rock band announced it has gone on “hiatus,” with lead singer Chris Robinson deciding to break out on his own and drummer Steve Gorman leaving the band. In a brief statement released Tuesday, the band said: “For the time being, Chris Robinson is pursuing a solo career. Steve Gorman has left the band for personal reasons.” The message, also posted on the band’s Web site, told fans to stay tuned for news about Rich Robinson, who is Chris Robinson’s brother. Lifehouse Ready to Rock


Eighteen months on the road wasn’t enough to suck the life out of Lifehouse. Although the threesome is presently enjoying a brief touring respite, singer/guitarist Jason Wade, bassist Sergio Andrade and drummer Rick Woolstenhulme will be back in the studio in March to work on the follow-up to their 2000 breakthrough debut, No Name Face. No Doubt’s Rock Steady is the highest debut this week on the Billboard 200 album chart.
