Softcult Announces Debut Album When A Flower Doesn’t Grow

At long last, Ontario-based twin duo Softcult has officially revealed the details for their debut full-length record, When A Flower Doesn’t Grow. Inspired by Alexander Den Heijer’s quote—”When a flower doesn’t bloom, you fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower”— the LP is set for release on January 30, 2026, via Easy Life Records. Alongside the album announcement, the duo launched the official video for “16/25,” a shimmering, shoegazey grunge tune with a vital message. Mercedes Arn-Horn says of the song, “It points out the cognitive dissonance men perpetuate while trying to possess and control younger women.” Sharing… Read more »

Nick Karcher Asks “ARE THE KIDS OKAY?” On New Protest Single

Nick Karcher has never shied away from saying what needs to be said. On his latest single, “ARE THE KIDS OKAY?,” he delivers a blistering statement dressed in new-age shock rock. Following the buzz of his earlier tracks “In Another Life” and “Not Another Song Called Perfect,” Karcher now takes aim at the political and social hypocrisy shaping a generation. Produced by Michael Bono (Avril Lavigne, blink-182, MOD SUN), “ARE THE KIDS OKAY?” is as infectious as it is infuriated. With sharp hooks and whip-smart lines like “Doctor, I can’t seem to fall asleep/Cause my teacher says bullets help you… Read more »

Ritter says, “By the way, just to clarify, there’s no shade at any artist, like mgk, this is more a slight to this big record company machine that’s trying to replicate something that’s been entirely organic while… Read more »

12 New-Age Protest Songs To Listen To This 4th of July

For Americans across the nation, this July 4th might not feel like one worth celebrating. In Trump’s first six months in office, he’s sent the military on U.S. citizens in Los Angeles. ICE arrests have broken innocent families apart, and in most cases, those being deported have no criminal record (or are actual American citizens). Countless pieces of legislation were introduced or passed that take direct aim at the LGBTQ+ community. Federal workers were laid off en masse, the genocide in Palestine rages on, and this is merely scratching the surface. Refer back, even further, to 2023 when SCOTUS overturned… Read more »
