The owner of a Detroit studio where Eminem purportedly cut his best-selling debut album, The Slim Shady LP, was found dead Tuesday, the victim of an apparent vendetta, according to local authorities. A business acquaintance discovered the body of Amjed A. Abdallah lying in a pool his own blood on the floor of Studio 8. Investigators said the 36-year-old Jordanian engineer was shot at least twice, most likely on Sunday, based on the bloated condition of the corpse. Boston – Drummer Jon Fishman’s offbeat “sonic rhythm dress” – which is stitched together from recycled cassette tapes – is going on display at a museum this month. The dress commissioned by Fishman, of the enormously popular jam band Phish, is going on display at Fuller Craft Museum in Brockton, The Boston Globe reported in Thursday’s editions. The singer’s Re-Invention Tour was the year’s biggest grosser, according to Billboard Boxscore, taking in $125 million through September and scoring 55 sellouts out of 56 shows. SYDNEY, Australia – Australian rock star-turned-lawmaker Peter Garrett was hospitalized after collapsing on a Sydney beach following a morning swim, authorities said. Garrett, former lead singer of Midnight Oil, was taken by ambulance to Prince of Wales Hospital after collapsing on Maroubra beach in southern Sydney early Saturday. PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti – Hip-hop star Wyclef Jean visited Haiti to try to help end a wave of violence that has left at least 79 people dead, including several police officers and two street gang leaders. The singer met with community and gang leaders in Bel Air Sunday as gunshots rang out.
