Pop-punk fans looking for an incentive to get them off their butts during the dreary winter months ahead are about to get a swift kick in the pants from Sum 41. The Ontario quartet have chosen “Motivation” as the third single off their debut album, All Killer No Filler. Weezer Continue To Hammer Away At New LP


Six months after returning to store shelves, Weezer are ready to make their follow-up. The band will soon enter a Hollywood studio to record its fourth album, according to an Interscope Records spokesperson. The LP’s scheduled April 30 release date may seem optimistic, but it’s not like the diligent group is starting from scratch. Nelly Furtado Flies Again


Nelly Furtado will try to extend the enormous success of her debut release, Whoa, Nelly!, next year with her Burn in the Spotlight Tour. Furtado will launch the tour in Victoria, British Columbia, on January 28th and play the West coast for the first leg. The tour will run into April, with label mates Citzen Cope, whose debut is due January 29th, opening. Meanwhile, the praise for Furtado keeps coming. The Stereophonics arrive stateside on Jan 21. They were originally going to headline in Sept. but the dates had to be postponed due to 9/11. Hoobastank Heads Back Out On The Road, Talks Incubus

Fireplaces and feet are not the only places you’ll see tube socks this Christmas season. Southern California funk rockers the Red Hot Chili Peppers, whose members occasionally wear only a strategically placed tube sock, are getting ready to release their first concert video in a decade. “Off the Map,” due December 4 on VHS and DVD, was filmed by Dick Rude at a September 2000 show in Portland, Oregon. P.O.D. Avoid Doing 'Dark, Dark Video' For 'Youth Of The Nation'


For P.O.D. this week, Youth of the Nation (the tour) had to take a backseat to “Youth of the Nation” (the song). Psychedelic Furs And Echo & The Bunnymen Map Out Tour


Two ’80s alternative legends, the Psychedelic Furs and Echo & the Bunnymen, will tour together this fall. The Furs will be supporting of their live album, Beautiful Chaos (Greatest Hits Live), due out November 20. The album also features a new studio track, “Alive.” Echo & the Bunnymen also have a recent release, Flowers.
