Bloc Party Unveils March North American Tour Plans


Bloc Party is hitting the road in support of its forthcoming Vice/Atlantic effort, “A Weekend in the City.” The British rock troupe will kick off the tour on March 11 at the Paramount Theatre in Seattle and will continue on through a March 30-31 New York stand. The Strokes’ Albert Hammond, Jr., Final Fantasy, Sebastian Grangier, the Like and Smoosh will rotate opening act duties.. “Born In the UK” but touring the states Badly Drawn Boy will continue his tour plans into 2007, with news of a major U.S. tour for March. Man Who Crashed at Prince Show Sentenced


PORTLAND, Ore. – A man who plowed his Lincoln Navigator into four security guards at a Prince concert last year was sentenced to 6 1/2 years in prison. Omar Rodriguez, 23, of Oregon City, was sentenced Tuesday after a Multnomah County Circuit Court jury convicted him of assault, hit-and-run and reckless endangerment. He was acquitted of attempted murder in the Sept. 1, 2004 incident. During his trial, Rodriguez acknowledged he had been drunk on Remy Martin cognac the day of the accident.
