It seems like just yesterday, we were on our iPod Nanos blasting 5 Seconds Of Summer‘s “She Looks So Perfect” and dancing around to the iconic Aussie punk-rock boy band. Believe it or not the song and the band’s debut self-titled album are turning 10 years old this year. Per a report published via Exclaim, Sum 41 has unfortunately been forced to cancel several of their upcoming Canadian performances “due to a minor back injury that requires a few weeks of physician ordered recuperation,” according to The Jubliee venue in a statement on their website. Last week, Kai Turmann, a lifelong friend of Bill Crook, announced via Instagram that Bill, who previously served as the bassist for Spiritbox and the pop-punk act Living With Lions, had suddenly passed away. Since that initial post, artists from the metal, pop-punk, and alternative music communities have flooded Bill’s final post on Instagram, where he detailed working with Underoath drummer/vocalist Aaron Gillespie on new music at the beginning of July. In what could seem like an unlikely collaboration to some, pop icon Britney Spears and skate company Welcome Skateboards recently dropped a brand new merch and skate deck line. Before their partnership with Spears, Welcome Skateboards launched a collab with My Chemical Romance. Since then, they’ve worked with Nine Inch Nails and Avenged Sevenfold, among others. Where those skate decks were decorated with sharp designs and moody undertones, their collaboration with Spears is not as dark but still features a bit of edge.
