Kelly Stokes Osbourne Vs. Corgan Feud, Audioslave Rocks Claus Fest

Kelly Osbourne stoked hostilities between the Osbourne family and former Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan at the New York City area radio show, Claus Fest, in Uniondale, New York on Thursday night (December 12). Corgan and Sharon Osbourne had a tiff several years ago, after she quit as the Pumpkins manager. The feud came alive again at the Almost Acoustic Christmas in Los Angeles on December 7. At that show, Kelly’s boyfriend, Bert McCracken of the Used, allegedly tried to trip Corgan, who performed with his new band Zwan. Corgan allegedly struck back by kicking McCracken in the stomach, according… Read more »

Kelly Osbourne Proves She's The Real Deal At NYC Concert

Kelly Osbourne proved she’s every bit her father’s daughter at her first full-fledged concert on Tuesday. Any questions about her authenticity – that recording her album, Shut Up, was simply the easiest way to boost her celebrity – were wiped away soon after she emerged beneath a giant pink neon sign that read “Kelly Osbourne,” visibly moved at the enthusiastic applause. Unlike her previous live performances – at a radio-sponsored festival and a “Tonight Show” gig – on Tuesday the crowd was all hers (the “I love you, Kelly” cries might have given it away), and she grabbed the reins… Read more »

'Osbournes' Premiere Draws 6.6 Million

“The Osbournes,” the reality series about rocker Ozzy Osbourne’s unorthodox family and home life, drew 6.6 million viewers in its second-season premiere, MTV said Wednesday. Tuesday’s ratings were up 84 percent compared to the first season’s premiere, and viewership rivaled that of the highest-rated episode last season, the music channel said. “‘The Osbournes’ juggernaut shows little signs of slowing down,” MTV programming president Brian Graden said in a statement. Last year, the show became an unexpected hit and the highest-rated show in MTV’s 21-year history. This season’s content is decidedly different, as the family copes with its newfound celebrity and… Read more »

'The Osbournes' Enters Second Season

“The Osbournes” becomes a reality show in the bleakest sense this season, as Ozzy and the kids cope with matriarch Sharon Osbourne’s colon cancer. Yet as the second batch of episodes begins Tuesday, MTV also is trying to maintain the wackiness that made the series the network’s biggest hit. The heavy-metal rocker, his wife and two of their three children are very different people than they were when they opened their home to us a year ago – and opened the floodgates to a slew of copycats. They still spew plenty of profanities for the censors to bleep out. And… Read more »

Osbournes As AMA Hosts Might Worry Network, But Not Dick Clark

With the Osbournes hosting the next American Music Awards, the telecast could prove more edgy than in the past. But show producer Dick Clark is not concerned about his decision to enlist the services of the often-foul-mouthed Ozzy Osbourne and his now-famous family. Clark said, “Well, there’s a lot of talk about the Osbournes, everybody’s stirring up this worry, worry, worry! The only person that’s worried is the ABC censor lady. She’s a tad concerned but, you know, I said to her, ‘They’re professionals. It’s gonna be fine…I hope.’” The 30th annual American Music Awards take place January 13 at… Read more »

Sharon Osbourne Gets TV Deal

Sharon Osbourne may regret her hit MTV series, but she’s still fond of television, and reportedly has signed up as host of a syndicated talk show. The wife of rock star Ozzy Osbourne has reached a deal with Telepictures Productions for the show beginning in fall 2003, Electronic Media online reported Thursday. A spokesman for Telepictures said the company doesn’t comment on projects in development. Terms of the deal were unavailable, Electronic Media said. In an interview with ABC’s Barbara Walters that aired this week, Osbourne said she wouldn’t invite MTV’s cameras into her home for reality series “The Osbournes”… Read more »

Sharon Osbourne Rethinks MTV Show

If she had to do it over again, Sharon Osbourne says she wouldn’t have invited MTV’s cameras into her home. At least, that’s what the cancer-stricken matriarch of television’s favorite dysfunctional family told ABC’s Barbara Walters when she talked to her earlier this fall. Osbourne said, in an interview to air on a special “20/20” edition Wednesday, that she’s calling it quits after an upcoming, 10-episode season is through. “We can’t do it anymore,” she said. When ABC released those quotes on Monday, an obviously concerned MTV President Van Toffler called Osbourne. He said she told him: “You know you… Read more »

'The Osbournes' Calling It Quits

The upcoming second season of The Osbournes will be its last. Sharon Osbourne reveals on a 20/20 segment airing Wednesday (November 6) that the clan is calling it quits after the new season. Osbourne sites the around-the-clock presence of cameras and changes in the family’s lifestyle as reasons for the pull-out. Osbourne tells 20/20 anchor Barbara Walters, “We agreed to do the show and so the cameras are here all the time, so it’s a little bit invasive right now and we have no privacy. You know, when you’re sick you want to be on your own. I can’t throw… Read more »

Osbournes to Host Music Awards Show

The censors may have to stay on their toes when Ozzy Osbourne and his family host the 30th annual American Music Awards. The three-hour special is scheduled to air live on ABC, starting at 8 p.m. EST Jan. 13. “I can’t wait to see what Ozzy and the rest of the family have in store for us, and I know the ABC-TV censor is already having dreams, or should I say nightmares, about their live ad-libs,” executive producer Dick Clark said Monday. The heavy-metal icon, his wife, Sharon, and two of their three children are notorious for their profanity-laced misadventures… Read more »
