Green Day will preview its forthcoming album, American Idiot, in its entirety on a short run of club dates beginning in Los Angeles on September 16th. The four-date tour will also visit Chicago on September 18th, New York on the 21st and Toronto on the 24th. Last winter, Vans Warped tour founder Kevin Lyman attended the Consumer Electronics Show to learn more about setting up backstage wireless Internet connections. All five members of the boy band reunited over the weekend to sing the national anthem at what’s become both a charitable and star-studded tradition: the group’s annual Challenge for the Children basketball tournament. Green Day leads the roster of rock and rap artists contributing music to Madden 2005, the latest in the series of football video games bearing the name of legendary announcer John Madden. The title track from Green Day’s forthcoming album, American Idiot, will appear on the game even before it reaches radio stations or record stores, while other artists contributing tracks from current albums include Franz Ferdinand, Hoobastank, the Hives, Chevelle and New Found Glory.
