Since their inception, Linkin Park have made it clear that they are neither rap nor rock but an evolved hybrid of both. Their debut album contained elements of the once-opposing genres, though it retained decidedly rock roots. Linkin Park’s Reanimation is one step closer to coming to life. The album, consisting mainly of new versions of tracks from the group’smultiplatinum 2000 debut, Hybrid Theory, has gone through the mastering stage, and a final track list has been settled upon, according to the band’s manager. The 20-track LP is due July 30. Staind singer Aaron Lewis will be heard on a new version of the Linkin Park single “Crawling” on the Southern California rap-rock band’s upcoming remix album. Lewis recorded harmonies for the song in Linkin Park’s bus on the Family Values Tour last fall, Linkin Park DJ Joseph Hahn said Thursday. Hahn described the track, remixed by vocalist Mike Shinoda, as spacey and twice as long as the three-minute original. Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda and DJ Joe Hahn have recorded a track with hip-hop turntablists X-ecutioners for the group’s Built From Scratch, which is set for a February 26 release. Linkin Park guitarist Brad Delson revealed that Hahn was instrumental in the track and in directing the song’s video. “The song that we’ve collaborated with them is finished.
