You may never have washboard abs like Britney Spears, but soon you can fill your belly at her restaurant. The pop singer is opening an American bistro in midtown Manhattan called Nyla – for New York, Spears’ new home, and Louisiana, her home state. Nyla will occupy space in the Dylan Hotel that formerly housed Virot, an upscale French restaurant that closed shortly after Sept. 11. Riddlin’ Kids, the ferociously melodic powerpunk band from Austin, Texas, are preparing to start touring in earnest in anticipation of the June 4 release of Hurry Up And Wait, their album debut on Aware/Columbia Records. They will be part of the Warped Tour starting mid-July; preceding the Warped dates, the group will tour with Mest and Dynamite Boys beginning in early April. While they won’t have Linkin Park and Staind along for the ride this time, Stone Temple Pilots will return to the road next month for a 16-date tour. The band, which headlined the Family Values Tour last year, will make several festival appearances and will play more intimate headlining gigs dubbed “A Night With Stone Temple Pilots,” according to the group’s management. Stone Temple Pilots will be playing various festivals this spring, including Atlanta’s Music Midtown, but the band is taking the summer off. Shirley Manson and company, who last toured the U.S. on the third leg of U2’s Elevation tour, will play more intimate club venues on this outing. Kid Rock has revealed dates to go along with the previously announced cites for his tour, which starts February 22 at the Wendler Arena in Saginaw, Michigan. The tour runs through Rock’s May 4 appearance at Atlanta’s Music Midtown Festival.
