Hard Rockers Drafted For 'Damned' Soundtrack


Marilyn Manson, Disturbed’s David Draiman, Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington, Static-X’s Wayne Static, and Orgy’s Jay Gordon have been drafted to sing five tracks co-written by Korn’s Jonathan Davis and multi-instrumentalist Richard Gibbs for the upcoming “Queen of the Damned” soundtrack. The Warner Bros. album is due Feb. 19; the film, starring the late Aaliyah and based on the novel by Anne Rice, arrives three days later in U.S. theaters. “Queen of the Damned” also stars Stuart Townshend as the vampire Lestat, who becomes a rock star with the band Satan’s Night Out. Linkin Park, Static X & Disturbed Fill In For Davis On 'Damned'


Korn vocalist Jonathan Davis will not appear on the soundtrack to the forthcoming movie Queen Of The Damned due to a stipulation in his contract with Epic Records, which prevents him from working for other labels. To solve the problem, Davis and Warner Bros., the label which is putting out the movie’s soundtrack, have assembled various stars of today’s alternative music scene to cover the five tunes, which Davis sings in the movie as the voice of the Lestat character. Linkin Park Planning Projekt Revolution Tour, Remix Album


Linkin Park is in the process of organizing its own headlining tour, the first Projekt Revolution Tour, tentatively set for January of 2002. While concert ticket sales have begun to rebound for top-level acts since the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks in New York and Washington, it’s the medium-range and niche bands that have felt the pinch and are likely to suffer further, industry insiders said. Crazy Town, Rob Zombie, One Side Zero, Shuvel, and current Guns N’ Roses members Tommy Stinson and Robbin Finck were among the capacity crowd at a massive party for charity at producer Rick Rubin’s famed Hollywood Hills mansion Saturday night (August 25). Police Stop Eminem Show In Scotland


Police had to temporarily stop an Eminem concert after 45 people were injured when the audience surged forward as the controversial rap star came on stage. None of the injuries from the Saturday concert were serious. Police said eleven people were taken to local hospitals and released after treatment. The others were treated at first aid tents set up around the outdoor concert site. Eminem, who was asked by police to stay backstage until the injured people were removed from the crowd, was allowed to continued his show at Glasgow’s “Gig in the Green” festival after a 30 minute break.… Read more »
