The hombres in ‘NSYNC have forked over their Spanish-language version of “This I Promise You” to help Madonna kick-start her Latin-music label. “Yo Te Voy a Amar” will appear on the dance pop collection pLATINum rhythm, due October 30 on Maverick Musica. ‘NSYNC performed the number at the inaugural Latin Grammys last year but have not released the song commercially. Madonna fans rushed to HBO.com (http://www.hbo.com) during the week ending Aug. 26, for a sneak peek of her live concert broadcast on HBO, according to leading Internet audience measurement service Nielsen//NetRatings. Traffic to HBO.com soared 39 percent at home to 247,000 unique visitors, compared with 177,000 visitors the previous week. Madonna Cancels New Jersey Show


There’ll be no “Music” in New Jersey Friday night. A case of laryngitis forced Madonna to cancel her August 3 show at the Continental Airlines Arena. The show, the second of two sold-out concerts at the arena, will not be rescheduled, according to a statement from promoter Clear Channel Entertainment. Refunds will be available at the point of purchase, and online and telephone orders will be automatically refunded. Madonna 'Swept Away' To Star In Husband's Movie


After being swept off her feet by her husband, British filmmaker Guy Ritchie, Madonna has agreed to star in his next movie, “Swept Away.” The pop superstar will play Raffaella, a rich woman who goes on a yachting vacation in the Mediterranean and becomes romantically involved with a communist sailor after they are shipwrecked, according to a spokesperson at Ritchie’s production company, SKA Films. Madonna’s Drowned World Tour began in Philadelphia Saturday night at the First Union Center with a performance of the song which gave the three-month tour its title. Madonna's Record Label Lays Off Staffers


While Madonna prepares to bring her “Drowned World Tour” to North America, her record label has reportedly jettisoned a half-dozen staffers. Daily Variety reported in its Friday edition that the president of Maverick Records had resigned while five other staffers were axed. The label, whose top acts include Canadian pop singer Alanis Morissette and hard rock band the Deftones, blamed deteriorating market conditions, the trade paper said. Her pals Elton, George Michael, Mick Jagger, even her best pal Gwyneth, all must pay $125 plus a booking fee to get into any of her sold out shows! Her spokeschick Liz Rosenberg said Madonna is adamant that they don’t receive star treatment this time around. Said Rosenberg, “There are no comped tickets… not even for celebs.”
