Rick Van Santen Passes Away; Promoter Advanced Punk Rock Bands


Rick Van Santen, a co-president of Goldenvoice, a Los Angeles concert promotion company that ushered punk rock from the fringes of the music scene to a wide audience, died last Sunday at his home in Ventura County of flu-related complications, his Goldenvoice partner Paul Tollett said. Gibson Audio, launched by the Gibson Guitar Corp. in May 2003, will introduce the Wurlitzer Digital Jukebox at the Consumer Electronics Show, to be held Jan. 8-11 in Las Vegas. Bruce Springsteen was the top concert draw across North America in 2003 as more than 1.6 million fans paid to take in his marathon shows and musings on the struggles of the working man. According to preliminary data published on Tuesday by concert trade publication Pollstar, the 54-year-old New Jersey rocker grossed $115.9 million from 47 shows to lead the annual rankings. Michael Jackson "arrest warrant issued"


Police armed with a search warrant are remaining at Michael Jackson’s Neverland Ranch in central California, and a broadcast report has said officers are also carrying an arrest warrant for the pop superstar. “The Jackson’s family attorney has confirmed that the Santa Barbara County Sheriff has issued an arrest warrant for Michael Jackson,” NBC Television reported on Wednesday. Jackson's Neverland Ranch Raided in Probe


Officers conducting a criminal investigation searched Michael Jackson’s Neverland Ranch on Tuesday. The purpose of the raid was not disclosed. Court TV cited unidentified sources as saying the search warrant was tied to sexual-abuse allegations brought by a 12- or 13-year-old boy. Sheriff’s officials and the district attorney’s office refused comment.
