Glazed-eyed rapper Snoop Dogg might want to avoid Cleveland when he’s drawing up tour itineraries – he’ll wind up in the slammer next time he’s caught there holding a bag. On Tuesday, Snoop, a.k.a. Calvin Broadus, pleaded no contest in Ohio’s Oberlin Municipal Court to possession of marijuana, a fourth degree misdemeanor, and was fined $250 plus court costs, which totaled $398.30. Trey Anastasio spent 17 years ripping genres apart and sticking them back together at odd angles with the everything-but-the-kitchen-sink uber-jam band Phish. So maybe it’s no surprise he’s whipped up another unusual concoction: a jam/swing hybrid dotted with sugary-sweet love songs and chamber music. Britney Spears’ new Austin Powers In Goldmember-themed Pepsi Twist television commercial made its debut on Sunday (May 19) during the finale of Survivor: Marquesas on CBS. In the commercial, which is set at a crowded party, Powers (Mike Myers) discovers that Spears’ Pepsi isn’t really what it seems – it’s a Pepsi Twist. Britney Spears’ next single “Boys,” from her latest album Britney, will do double duty as one of the upcoming singles from the soundtrack to Austin Powers in Goldmember. The soundtrack version, however, will be an exclusive remix of the track by the ubiquitous production duo, the Neptunes, who worked on Britney as well. The “Boys” remix is tentatively set as the second single from the soundtrack. Beyonce Knowles’ “Work It Out” is expected to be the first single and will hit radio in early June. Austin Powers will appear in Britney Spears’ video for “Boys,” the Neptunes-produced next single from Britney (2001) and the first release from the “Austin Powers in Goldmember” soundtrack. Spears and Mike Myers, the man behind the international man of mystery, are filming the clip in a Hollywood mansion Tuesday (May 14) and Wednesday, according to Spears’ Jive Records spokesperson.
