Corey Feldman Pantomimes, Mimics Michael At In-Store Show

“Surreal” is about the only word to describe it when that kid you remember from “Gremlins” and “Goonies,” all grown up now, is rocking out in the middle of a record store. And surreal it was when Corey Feldman and his band played for a bewildered crowd numbering less than a hundred recently at Tower Records on Sunset Boulevard. As fans and curious shoppers waited (and waited), a drummer, a guitarist, a bassist named Pharaoh and a keyboard player (none of whom would look lost at a construction site) along with two backup singers crowded onto a makeshift stage, where… Read more »

The Weilands Are Divorcing

Mary Weiland, the wife of Stone Temple Pilots singer Scott Weiland, filed for divorce after two years of marriage on September 24th. The filing cited irreconcilable differences, and Mary is seeking spousal and child support and full custody of their children, one-year-old son Noah and two-month-old daughter Lucy. Weiland pled guilty to a domestic battery charge last December for an incident a month earlier at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. Mary Weiland tried to prevent her husband from leaving their room at the hotel to pick up a prescription, prompting him to push her against a… Read more »

Kelly Clarkson Crowned 'American Idol'

The girls still screamed every time former bar mitzvah singer Justin Guarini flashed his pearly whites, but it was soulful girl-next-door Kelly Clarkson who took home the title of “American Idol” Wednesday night. Coming off her bravura performance on Tuesday, the 20-year-old Burleson, Texas, cocktail waitress brought down the house moments after being crowned the champion of the talent contest. “I can’t believe it’s happening to me,” Clarkson sang, as fireworks rained down behind her during a performance of her soon-to-be-released first single, “A Moment Like This.” A choked-up Clarkson blew a line during her command performance (one of her… Read more »

On top of firming up plans for side project the Transplants to drop their debut LP, setting off on the road with Box Car Racer, and preparing the new Blink-182 album, the drummer somehow found time to bring his collection of vintage Cadillacs up to 11 with the addition of a ’54 Coup De Ville and ’78 El Dorado. The tour marks the one-year anniversary of the release of the Strokes’ debut, Is This It?, which has sold over 640,000 copies to date. New Found Glory Get 'Toxic Avenger' Team For Clip, Drummer's Arm Falls Off

Just because New Found Glory are getting love from the “TRL” crowd doesn’t mean they’re changing their ways or cleaning up their act. Sure, the band’s next video is for the song “Head on Collision,” one of the slower, more melodic tracks from their latest album, Sticks & Stones. But the clip, directed by the Malloys, will reveal a previously unseen twisted side of the group thanks to the help of schlock horror production company Troma Films, which provided the makeup and special effects for the video. “Me and our singer Jordan are really big fans of ‘The Toxic Avenger’… Read more »

Cocaine Contributed To The Death Of Who's Entwistle

Cocaine caused the heart attack that killed the Who’s bassist John Entwistle, a coroner reported Thursday. The Las Vegas medical examiner also classified the death as accidental and not due to an overdose, according to the Associated Press. How much cocaine was in Entwistle’s system couldn’t be determined, however. The drug caused his coronary arteries – already damaged by a pre-existing heart condition – to contract, which led to the fatal heart attack. The 57-year-old’s body was found June 27 in his hotel room at the Las Vegas Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, a day before the Who were to… Read more »
