NSYNC Drops Jackson Tribute For VMA


*NSYNC will not be performing at the all-star salute to Michael Jackson due to scheduling conflicts, according to the event’s producer David Gest. The pop group was originally scheduled to perform with Jackson on September 7, but Gest released a statement today (August 22) in which he explained: “Michael Jackson and *NSYNC will not have time to rehearse the ‘Dancing Machine’ number with the Jacksons in the way Michael planned to present it. “An all-star salute to ‘The King Of Pop’, MICHAEL JACKSON: 30TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION, THE SOLO YEARS has been set for two dates, Friday, September 7, 2001 and Monday, September 10, 2001 at Madison Square Garden at 7:40 P.M.,” announced David Gest, producer of the event. ‘NSync was the top musical act at the seventh annual Blockbuster Entertainment Awards Tuesday (April 10) night at L.A.’s Shrine Auditorium, winning Favorite CD (No Strings Attached), Favorite Single (“Bye, Bye, Bye”), and Favorite Pop Group.
