Oasis have confirmed twelve North American summer tour dates in support of their upcoming fifth album, Heathen Chemistry. The trek kicks off on August 2nd in Fort Lauderdale, Florida – six days after the band wraps its European tour in Rome – and is now scheduled to run through an August 21st date in Detroit. Nickelback and former Alice In Chains guitarist Jerry Cantrell will be joined by Default on the Jim Beam Road To The Rackhouse Tour, which kicks off Monday (May 13) in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Default’s last-minute addition comes after its own plans-serving as the opening act of Creed’s national tour-were canceled after the tour was postponed due to an injury to Creed frontman Scott Stapp. The development means that Default is once again reunited with fellow Canadians, longtime friends, and frequent tour mates Nickelback. Her collarbone may be broken, but her spirit seems barely bruised, given Jewel’s plans to resume touring earlier than expected. She’ll return to the stage Monday for shows that looked as though they wouldn’t happen after she fell from a horse on April 24, according to an Atlantic Records spokesperson. Canadian power trio Rush will kick off its first tour in five years June 28 in Hartford, Conn. The 27 confirmed stops are the first in the band’s planned extensive tour in support of its latest Atlantic album, “Vapor Trails,” due May 14. First single “One Little Victory” thundered to a No. 22 debut on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Tracks chart last week. The tour is billed as “An Evening With Rush,” and will not feature an opening act.
