Sharon Osbourne seems to be doing well following her first session of chemotherapy Monday, with husband Ozzy by her side. She’s in “very good spirits – she’s very upbeat,” the Osbournes’ spokesperson told USA Today. Sharon’s three-month chemo prescription is treating the cancer that was initially thought to be confined to her colon, but following an operation, was found to have spread. Cocaine caused the heart attack that killed the Who’s bassist John Entwistle, a coroner reported Thursday. The Las Vegas medical examiner also classified the death as accidental and not due to an overdose, according to the Associated Press. How much cocaine was in Entwistle’s system couldn’t be determined, however. The drug caused his coronary arteries – already damaged by a pre-existing heart condition – to contract, which led to the fatal heart attack. Just a few months after a car accident involving singer Scott Stapp derailed Creed’s summer tour, the band is back and, seemingly, no worse for the wear. Dirty Vegas hooks up with Moby on Sunday (July 14) in Dallas to serve as the main support act on his current headlining tour, which kicked off Thursday (July 11) in Kansas City. The British trio, known for its hit single, “Days Go By,” tours with Moby through late-August, with new dates recently added in Charlotte, North Carolina (August 24); Portsmouth, Virginia (August 25); and Pittsburgh (August 26). Stunned fans of The Who’s John Entwistle left flowers and consoled each other outside a casino concert hall where the bass player who helped make the band one of the biggest in rock history had been expected to perform Friday. Entwistle was found dead Thursday in his Hard Rock Hotel room of an apparent heart attack. He was 57. “The Ox has left the building – we’ve lost another great friend,” bandmates Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey wrote on Townshend’s Web site. Drummer Joey Jordison of the hard rock band Slipknot, is planning to release a side project this summer. Slipknot is composed of nine Des Moines-area natives known for grotesque masks and extreme metal music. The band they started in an Urbandale basement in the mid-1990s has captured two Grammy nominations and sold millions of compact discs around the world. Jordison has teamed up with Tripp Eisen of Static-X to form Murderdolls. They’ll release their debut album, “Beyond the Valley of the Murderdolls,” on Aug. 20. The crumbling structure, which stands as the largest stadium in the world per square foot, lent itself well to Ozzy Osbourne and his latest touring comrades, who hit the venue Thursday night for the seventh stop on the metal tour.
