Bon Jovi Add Stadium and Shed Dates to Sold Out 'Bounce' Tour


Due to popular demand, international superstars Bon Jovi have added more dates to their current sold-out tour in support of their acclaimed CD Bounce (Island Records). This summer, the band returns from their European stadium tour to play arenas, ampitheatres and stadiums (in Philadelphia, Detroit and Boston), returning to many markets where they have already played to capacity-filled crowds. Linkin Park's 'Meteora' Has Lasting Chart Impact


Linkin Park’s “Meteora” maintains its No. 1 standing on the Billboard 200 for a second-straight week, despite a hefty 67% drop in U.S. sales. The band’s sophomore Warner Bros. album sold 265,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan, bringing its two-week sales total above the 1 million mark. The No. 1 entry of “Meteora” on The Billboard 200 followed a similar opening on the U.K. album chart. EMI Boosts Stake in Motown Music Catalog


British music company EMI Group Plc said on Thursday it bought a further 30 percent stake in a catalog of classic Motown songs such as “My Girl” and “I Heard It Through the Grapevine” for $109.3 million. EMI purchased the stake in the Jobete song catalog from Motown Records founder Berry Gordy, taking its holding to 80 percent. Gordy, who helped create dozens of classic songs from a cramped basement studio in Detroit known as Hitsville, USA, had told EMI last year he would exercise an option to sell all of his remaining 50 percent stake in Jobete. You can love Meat Loaf – you can love him forever – but you can’t see him in concert for much longer. The singer-actor is embarking on his final world tour, which will last 15 months. The U.S. portion is scheduled to begin June 22 in Saratoga, Calif., and end Sept. 29 in West Springfield, Mass. Eminem to Host '8 Mile' DVD Release Party


A party in honor of the DVD release of “8 Mile” wouldn’t be complete without an appearance from Eminem – and rap battling. On Thursday, Slim Shady himself will host the “8 Mile DVD Launch Party” at St. Andrews Hall in Detroit. Hip-hop artists D12 and Xzibit, who appear in the film, are slated to perform. Springsteen Adds 2 More Dates to N.J. Gig


It’s another record for The Boss. Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band have added two more dates at Giants Stadium after tickets for the original seven shows in July sold out Saturday. That marked the first time in Ticketmaster history that a performer sold tickets for seven stadium dates in a single day. The nine-show run at a single stadium is a first for any performer worldwide. D.C. Theatre Benefit Draws Varied Artists


Celebrities and artists from the country music and Latino community entertained President Bush and the first lady Sunday evening at the annual presidential gala benefit for Ford’s Theatre. Springsteen Sells Out 7 Shows in 1 Day


Bruce Springsteen’s homecoming has broken a record. Fans of the musician snapped up tickets to seven July shows in Giants Stadium, the first time in Ticketmaster history that a performer had sold tickets for seven stadium dates in a single day. Ticket demand for three announced shows on July 15, 17 and 18 was so extraordinary that two more dates were added on July 21 and 24.
