Evanescence lead singer Amy Lee has told Australia’s UndercoverNews website that former Cold guitarist Terry Balsamo is now a permanent member of Evanescence. Balsamo stepped in as a temporary replacement late last year for founding axeman Ben Moody, who abruptly departed in the middle of a European tour last October. Jane Carter, the 44-year-old mother of pop singers Aaron Carter and Backstreet Boy Nick Carter, was arrested and charged with battery in an alleged attack on her estranged husband’s girlfriend, Ginger Elrod. The alleged incident took place the evening of Tuesday, January 13th at Robert Carter’s Marathon, Florida home. Backstreet Boy A.J. McLean helped chase down a jewel thief at the Hard Rock Hotel parking lot in Las Vegas on Monday (January 5) evening, according to theLas Vegas Sun. The paper reports that the singer was trying on watches in Rocks, the hotel’s jewelry store, when a man walked in and asked to try on several bracelets and rings. Another year of touring isn’t frazzling AFI – quite the opposite. “I usually bug out off tour at, like, day 10,” explained drummer Adam Carson, who, along with his bandmates, is enjoying his first vacation since before Sing the Sorrow was released in March. “It’ll be nice to do another tour.” AFI’s latest jaunt launches February 18 in Bakersfield, California, with Coheed and Cambria and A Static Lullaby in the opening slots. There’s one drawback to Blink-182’s decision to release “I Miss You” as their next single. “This is the thing, the song’s really hard to play,” singer/guitarist Tom DeLonge said backstage at KROQ-FM’s annual Almost Acoustic Christmas on Sunday. “We’ve never played it before. We might play it in the future, or we might have it on a ghetto blaster onstage and we might do an interpretive dance.
