A decade ago, Tori Amos made a musical breakthrough with an autobiographical tale of rape called “Me and a Gun.” On her new album, Strange Little Girls, she again addresses the subject of female victimization – this time by turning Eminem’s fantasy about killing his wife inside-out. Gorillaz Bag Six Berths For MTV Euro Nods


Gorillaz, the cartoon indie-beat band formed by Damon Albarn of the rock band Blur, picked up six nominations, including best group, in the eighth annual MTV Europe Music Awards noms, announced here Tuesday. Arbitron Profile Shows MTVi Listeners Educated, Affluent And Active Online Consumers


According to the latest results of an Arbitron Webcast Audience Profiles(SM), the company’s new tool for profiling streaming media audiences, a majority of listeners for the Internet radio network MTVi are well-educated, affluent and active online. The survey, conducted in July and August 2001, reveals that more than two-thirds of MTVi’s listeners (69 percent) are college graduates and/or are attaining a post-graduate degree. McCartney To Aid NYFD


Paul McCartney will perform a concert in New York City to benefit the city’s firefighters in the next month. McCartney was on board a plane on a New York City airport runway when terrorists hijacked two planes and flew them into the World Trade Center’s twin towers last week, and has been in the city since the tragedy.
