The guitarist with modern rock band Hoobastank is in serious but stable condition following surgery for a head injury sustained during a motorbike accident earlier this week in Myrtle Beach, S.C.. Blink 182 and Taking Back Sunday are set to perform a benefit concert on September 6 in San Diego for professional surfer Jason Bogle, who suffers from a rare kind of bone cancer called Ewing Sarcoma. The backstage area of this year’s Vans Warped Tour often resembled a punk-rock frat party, according to Thrice frontman Dustin Kensrue. There was plenty of partying and more than a few juvenile practical jokes perpetrated by the bands and their crews. Such situations can be flat-out dangerous, and sometimes injuries ensue. More than a quarter-century after his death, Elvis Presley has something new to get his fans all shook up. A never-before-released song recorded by Presley nearly 40 years ago was recently unearthed and will be issued this fall by RCA Records as part of a new collection of favorites from the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll, the label said on Friday. The announcement comes on the eve of the 26th anniversary of Presley’s death, on Aug. 16, 1977, at age 42.
