As Britney Spears readies for her tour, she’s making sure there’s plenty of her to go around while fans wait for her to come around. Confirming that interest in the Pixies’ music has not waned since the band’s 1993 demise, 11 of the 12 shows scheduled for the group’s impending reunion tour sold out within minutes over the weekend. A Missouri casino faces a possible $50,000 fine for allegedly giving the rapper Nelly special treatment. State regulators claim the President Casino on the Admiral let Nelly skirt rules intended to limit the amount of money patrons can bet. The Missouri Gaming Commission proposed the fine Thursday. Singer Courtney Love showed up as scheduled in Los Angeles Superior Court Tuesday (February 17) for a hearing, prompting a judge to throw out an arrest warrant for her, according to the Associated Press. Judge Elden Fox issued the warrant last Tuesday (February 10) when Love failed to appear for the hearing, but allowed Love a week to comply before ordering her arrest. Judge Lisa Hart Cole dismissed the warrant Tuesday and scheduled Love’s next hearing for March 16. But in the days leading up to Napster’s re-launch in late October, HP suddenly – and without explanation – returned Napster’s $250,000 check and canceled the agreement to install a link to Napster’s online music service on its computers. Veteran Los Angeles punk outfit Bad Religion will release a new studio album, “The Empire Strikes First” June 8 via Epitaph.
