Rock band the Black Crowes, who kicked off a North American tour with Oasis last weekend, took time out Monday to immortalize their handprints in concrete. As about 200 fans looked on, the group’s members dipped their hands in wet concrete at the Rockwalk, joining a display that includes such artists as Willie Dixon, Jerry Lee Lewis, Bonnie Raitt and Black Sabbath. “We’ve had an amazing journey the last 10 years and we couldn’t be happier,” singer Chris Robinson told the fans gathered on Sunset Boulevard outside the guitar store that operates the exhibit. “From Robert Johnson and Muddy Waters… Read more »

Most major rock bands are good for one or two live albums during their careers. As of this week, Pearl Jam have 73 live albums to their credit. The Seattle rockers, now in their 11th year together, took the unprecedented step of releasing a budget-priced “official bootleg” CD from almost every show on their 2000 tour in order to combat pirates and to give fans a good deal. The roll-out occurred in three stages, ending Tuesday with the retail release of 24 CDs from the second half of the U.S. tour. Already in stores were 25 CDs from Europe and… Read more »
This week on idobi Warped Radio, TX2 storms the mic to talk about kicking egos to the curb, blowing up as an emo influencer, and turning self-doubt into a full-blown movement. Plus, they dish on mixing rock and rap, their favorite collabs (From First To Last, Ice Nine Kills, and more), going viral on TikTok, meeting Sum 41, and why “they will not erase us” is more than a lyric—it’s a war cry.
Oh, and there’s talk of ass-kicking. Naturally.
I have new band Repenter on my show. I’ve been friends with their guitar player for about 15 years now, he’s been in bands, was even a record executive at Warner Brothers for a while and now recorded new music with Ross Robinson (Slipknot, Glassjaw, Korn, From First To Last etc) their band sounds nothing like those bands, and they have a refreshing sound, take a listen!!
Tune in Wednesday night for The Gunz Show with guests Justin Pierre of Motion City Soundtrack, Matt Good of From First To Last, and Major League.
