After more than two decades as a pro, Tony Hawk is hanging up his board. The 35-year-old father of three announced his retirement from competition after winning the gold at X Games IX on Sunday in Los Angeles. Hawk placed first in the Vert Best Trick competition with his patented 900, a full two-and-a-half-rotation spin off the half-pipe. A little over a year since a bus accident nearly prevented him from ever walking again, Dryden Mitchell and Alien Ant Farm are ready to strut their stuff on a monthlong U.S. tour. A lawyer representing 16 plaintiffs in a lawsuit filed in the wake of the Station nightclub fire that killed 99 people in February has dropped Great White from his list of defendants. The band’s sophomore Warner Bros. album sold 265,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan, bringing its two-week sales total above the 1 million mark. The tiny, unassuming city of Devore, California, will be transformed into a punk-rock Mecca next month when it hosts a show featuring the Sex Pistols, X, Bad Religion, the Vandals, Unwritten Law, New Found Glory and others. Sharon Osbourne seems to be doing well following her first session of chemotherapy Monday, with husband Ozzy by her side. She’s in “very good spirits – she’s very upbeat,” the Osbournes’ spokesperson told USA Today. Sharon’s three-month chemo prescription is treating the cancer that was initially thought to be confined to her colon, but following an operation, was found to have spread.
