Wheatus Unveil Star Wars "Attack Of The Clones" Plot

Self confessed HUGE Star Wars fans Wheatus don’t like the title of the next Star Wars movie “Attack of the Clones”. Speaking with entaine.com’s Heiko Schoenborn Brendon Brown says “I like The Phantom Menace, I don’t like Attack of the Clones. It makes it sound like Attack of the Killer Tomatoes. Like a B grade horror movie. It’s probably going to be a great story and great effects. All the Storm Troopers are clones underneath their helmets. The Emperor in The Phantom Menace used robots but they weren’t reliable, so he had to experiment with Clones. That’s where the Clone… Read more »

Foo Fighters Open For Van Halen Wannabes

It is Friday night in the San Fernando Valley and the regulars at Paladino’s, a tiny biker bar, are out in full force. Hell’s Angels gun their engines in the parking lot while lines of leather-clad rock fossils straighten their acid-washed jeans, run combs through their mullets and get ready to rock. Most of the crowd has come to catch the Atomic Punks, a blue-ribbon Van Halen tribute band. But there’s another contingent on-hand. Rage Against the Machine drummer Brad Wilk, actor/singer Jack Black, and porn queen Jenna Jameson are in the house, and it’s unlikely they made the trek… Read more »

Alien Ant Farm Not At Warped Tour Closer In Detroit

The 2001 Warped tour came to a relatively subdued close on Sunday (August 12) in front 15,000 mosh-pit friendly fans at the Phoenix Plaza in the Detroit suburb of Pontiac, Michigan. Some fans, however, were disappointed that Alien Ant Farm, currently hot thanks to its hit cover of Michael Jackson’s “Smooth Criminal,” wasn’t on the bill as expected. The group… Read more »

Record Labels Plan Copy-Proof CDs After Napster

The music industry is escalating its crusade against Napster-style music swapping with a plan to place stringent controls on compact discs – including, perhaps, the one you bought last week. Some of the world’s major record labels – Vivendi Universal’s Universal Music, Sony Corp.’s Sony Music, AOL Time Warner Inc.’s Warner Music, EMI Group Plc, and Bertelsmann AG’s BMG – are already running quiet field tests of CDs that cannot be copied, or “ripped,” to a personal computer. Using technology from companies such as Sunnyvale, California-based Macrovision Corp and privately held Israeli firm Midbar Technologies, the labels hope to staunch… Read more »
