Rock troubadour Bruce Springsteen sang the prescient “My City of Ruins” and pop diva Mariah Carey gave a comeback performance of “Hero” during an internationally televised pledge drive on Friday benefiting victims of the Sept. 11 attacks on America. XM Reschedules Official Launch Of Satellite Radio For Sept. 25


XM Satellite Radio today received from the Federal Communications Commission nationwide terrestrial network authority necessary to commence commercial operations and has rescheduled launch of the first U.S. digital satellite radio service for Tuesday, Sept. 25. XM had originally scheduled its launch for Sept. 12, but postponed it following the tragic events of last Tuesday in Washington, where the company is based, and in New York. The World Postpones September 14 Juliana Theory Concert


Due to Tuesday’s unfortunate events The World night club wants to inform tickets holders that the Juliana Theory Concert scheduled for this Friday, September 14 has been postponed. The event, which is part of the CMJ Music Marathon and Filmfest, will be rescheduled for mid-October. A date has not yet been confirmed. All tickets will be honored for the new date. Hip-Hop Group Yanks Album Cover Depicting WTC Blast

XM On Schedule For Commencement Of National Rollout Sept. 12


XM Satellite Radio today announced that the first-ever AM/FM/XM satellite radio shipments began arriving in the United States in preparation for the company’s September 12 launch of its satellite radio service. The service features 100 digital- quality channels including 71 music channels, of which more than 30 are 100% commercial-free. In addition, XM will offer 29 news, talk, sports and entertainment channels.
